How YGTeeV handles your data.
1. Who we are
YGTeeV is a Bible-reading social app for teens. It is owned and operated by StoryButton LLC.

2. What we collect
- Email address — used for account authentication and essential communications.
- Display name — shown on your profile and in group interactions.
- Date of birth — used to verify age and ensure COPPA compliance for users under 13.
- Approximate location — city-level only, collected only if you opt in, used for the youth-group map feature.
- User-generated content — chat messages, profile bio text, and Bible plan responses you submit.
- Photos and videos you upload — profile avatars, plan-block recordings, and event media.
- Purchase history — Apple In-App Purchases processed via RevenueCat.
- Diagnostic data — crash reports and performance metrics to keep the app stable.
- Anonymized usage analytics — which screens are used and feature engagement, not linked to your identity.
3. What we do NOT collect
- We do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
- We do not sell your data to third parties.
- We do not run advertising in the app.
4. Who we share data with (third-party processors)
- Supabase — primary database, authentication, and file storage. Data is stored on Supabase's AWS infrastructure (us-east-2 region).
- RevenueCat — manages subscription state for Apple In-App Purchases.
- Apple — payment processing (StoreKit) and push notifications (APNS).
- Mux — video hosting for Bible plan recordings and event media.
- OpenAI — text moderation only. Chat messages are sent for safety classification before delivery. OpenAI does not retain them for training per their API terms.
- Resend — transactional email delivery (welcome emails, join requests).
- PostHog — anonymous product analytics that cannot be linked back to your identity.
- Sentry — crash reporting that cannot be linked back to your identity.
5. Children's privacy (COPPA)
YGTeeV is intended for ages 13+ by default.
Children under 13 can use YGTeeV only through a parent-managed account ("Family Account"). The parent creates and consents to the child's profile, and pays a one-time $0.99 fee per child via Apple In-App Purchase.
Under-13 accounts are never shown on the public youth-group map or in public group listings.
Parents have ongoing access to view their child's game stats, manage chat thread participation, and delete the child's account at any time.
We comply with COPPA (US Children's Online Privacy Protection Act).
6. How long we keep your data
- Account data: kept while your account is active.
- Deleted accounts: soft-deleted immediately, hard-deleted after 30 days.
- Chat messages: kept while you're a member of the relevant group; deleted when you leave the group.
- Backups: rolling 30-day retention.
7. Your rights
- Access: request a copy of your data by emailing privacy@ygteev.com.
- Correction: edit most fields in-app via Settings.
- Deletion: in-app via Settings → Account → Delete Account, or by emailing privacy@ygteev.com.
- EU/UK residents: you have rights under GDPR. California residents: you have rights under CCPA. Contact us to exercise them.
8. Security
- All network traffic uses HTTPS/TLS.
- Passwords are hashed via bcrypt.
- Personal data is encrypted at rest by Supabase.
9. Changes to this policy
We'll post material changes here and notify users in-app. The "Effective date" at the top of this page will update accordingly.
